Jumko Ogata-Aguilar is a writer, translator and antiracism educator from Xalapa, Mexico. She holds a bachelors degree in Latin American studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She was part of the feminist anthology Tsunami 2 published by Sexto Piso in 2020 (forthcoming English edition by Feminist Press), as well as Daughters of Latin America edited by Sandra Guzmán in 2023. She is the author of Mi Pelo Chino, a bilingual children’s book published in Spanish and Mixteco. She is the translator of the Spanish edition of bell hooks’ Sisters of the Yam. She has facilitated workshops on antiracism and AfroMexican history for Facebook, Twitter, the Department of Culture of Mexico, as well as non profit organisations in Mexico and the US.
